Mt San Gorgonio - San Bernardino National Forest

Trailhead

The trail begins here to the right of the sign. It soon merges with a dirt road. Follow the signs until you cross the river.

River

Looking up the river which is dry this time of year. A sign says to be careful of flash floods. We didn't see any.

Switchbacks

A typical switchback. This trail can be quite rocky and it is said to be among the steepest trails in Southern California. This part of the trail goes on for about a mile.

San Gorgonio Wilderness

This sign marks the top of the switchbacks. Within a few minutes you will be at the Vivian Creek Camp.

Near Vivian Creek Camp

This is my favorite part of the trail. The area around Vivian Creek is lush with vegetation and the trail is relatively flat, which is nice after those switchbacks.
