Sadly, we are going home today. You return to the trail and turn right. You will have views of Boothe Lake as you head to Tuolumne Pass where there is a junction where you can catch a trail back down to the lake. Beyond the pass the trail descends gradually beside a meadow for a few miles. At the end of the meadow the trail begins to switchback down. You will get occasional views of Tuolumne Meadows below.

Once at the bottom there are a maze of trails. You will turn left at the first junction and from there you will follow the signs back to your car, crossing the Lyell Fork of the Tuolumne Meadow.

The Tuolumne Meadows Lodge has showers available for a few dollars. You may want to go there before heading home. The showers are only open to the public during certain hours, but if you get there before then you may be able to sneak in.
